For the tenth time, the Serrería Belga Cultural Space, a center dependent on the Area of Culture, Tourism, and Sports of the Madrid City Council, becomes one of the epicenters of designer fashion on February 13, 14, and 17 as part of Madrid es Moda, hosting the fashion shows and presentations of the new collections by María Lafuente, Dolores Promesas, Luis Berrendero, and Peñalver Brand.
With this initiative, Serrería Belga reinforces its commitment to artistic creation in all its forms, from design to art, music, literature, image, and gastroculture.
Fashion shows, presentations, and performances
On Thursday, February 13, at 6:30 p.m., designer María Lafuente will offer a small-format fashion show showcasing Ataraxia, her new capsule collection based on exclusivity, craftsmanship, and sustainability. In this collection, materials such as certified tencel (fiber extracted from the eucalyptus tree), wool, and other natural fabrics merge with artisanal details, establishing a dialogue between the beauty of nature and innovation.
On Friday, February 14, at 1:00 p.m., it will be Dolores Promesas’ turn with a fashion show that marks the debut of the new creative director of the brand, Mexican Jasive Fernández. The unpublished collection Manifiesto blends traditionally feminine and masculine elements using materials such as lace, silk, and linen, incorporating details like bow ties, ribbons, bibs, and tuxedo belts to represent the duality that defines the contemporary woman. This mix comes to life in the form of billowy sleeves, ruffles, capes, circular skirts, structured cuts, and precise lines.
In an exhibition format, Luis Berrendero will present on Monday, February 17, from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m., his new bridal collection combining mannequins, mirrors, lights, and sounds to create an immersive sensory experience. Inspired by the wedding dress his mother wore in 1969, this capsule collection for brides captures the essence and elegance of the fifties and sixties.
Peñalver Brand will close out these days of fashion at Serrería Belga with a performance on Monday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m. to introduce their innovative upcycling line. This collection is designed from vintage tailoring garments that are transformed to give them a new life by reusing existing materials. The result translates into new and unique limited edition pieces that preserve the essence and memory of the original items. This proposal aims to elevate the wardrobe while reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry, promoting a more sustainable system.
The Madrid es Moda Initiative
Under the motto ‘Blooming designer fashion,’ this new installment of Madrid es Moda, taking place from February 13 to 18 at various locations in the capital, targets diverse audiences, focusing on the new generation of artisans and establishing itself as the project that best represents Spanish designer fashion and the values of slow fashion.
This initiative is driven by the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME) with the support of the Madrid Capital de Moda program, led by the Area of Economy, Innovation, and Finance of the Madrid City Council. /
