Sharing experiences, living together, and strengthening relationships through sports, as well as reinforcing institutional values and principles, are the main objectives of the ‘Eurogames 112’, which will celebrate its first edition in Alcobendas, ‘European City of Sport 2025’, from September 22 to 28 within the framework of the ‘European Sports Week’ alongside other events such as the ‘Sports Festival’.
The games are organized by the International Tactical Police Association (I.T.P.A.), an association founded in 2000 in the Canadian city of Quebec and currently based in Brussels (Belgium) that is dedicated to defending the rights of police officers and promoting positive relations between the police and citizens and has previously held this competition in Latin America.
Athletes from around the world working in public service professions such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, paramedics, nurses, civil protection, customs agents, security agents, air traffic controllers, and military personnel, can register for these games, which also aim to promote inclusive sports.
The Sports Councilor, Jesús Tortosa, has stated that «it is an honor for Alcobendas to host this event due to the type of athletes who will participate and the impact it will have throughout Europe.» «In our city,» he added, «we have numerous athletes belonging to the Local Police and National Police, Firefighters, and Civil Protection who have already confirmed that they will sign up and collaborate in the organization.»
There will be four categories: open (18 to 34 years old), senior (35 to 44 years old), master (45 to 54 years old), and grand master (55 years old and older), and fourteen sports disciplines: chess, athletics, basketball, mountain biking, crossfitcop, soccer, jiu-jitsu, judo, swimming, paddle, powerlifting, taekwondo, shooting, and volleyball.
Those interested in participating can register online from June 1 to August 31 through the event’s website eurogames112.eu. After this deadline, another registration period will open for some sports from September 23 during the accreditation process.
