Almeida, in different moments of the presentation of the project «Casa Aladina» and the new campaign «Paduel Challenge», with the support of EMT Madrid
The Municipal Council of Madrid granted the Aladina Foundation a concession from the applicant through an open procedure and in a free concordance regime, for the construction of «Aladda House», the first day center for children with cancer in Spain. The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, and the president of the Foundation, Paco Arago, presented the project this morning at the Cibels Palace.
This municipal award, promoted by the urban planning, environment, and mobility area, will enable «Aladina Casa» with public services in the basic team of the social care team. The package has an area of 15,813 m2 and will have an infrastructure of 4,000 m2 built in a green area. The Foundation, as well as the management, will assume the necessary investment for the construction of «Aladina Casa», estimated at eight million euros.

«Aladina Casa» will be a unique space in Europe, composed of three interconnected independent buildings: the main building, the life pavilion, and an auditorium, as well as various outdoor areas. In the main building, the foundation’s offices, being areas, consultations, versatile rooms for arts, music, and games, an adapted gym, and a cafeteria. The life pavilion will be dedicated to psychological care and grief, while the auditorium, with a capacity of 50 people, will be used for recreational activities and events.
It will also have outdoor spaces, such as dog areas, an ecological garden, a golf circuit, and small cabins for recreational and therapeutic activities. The entire project will be designed with sustainability and energy efficiency criteria, guaranteeing low maintenance and harmonious integration with the natural environment.
The «Esarfa Challenge» initiative, with the support of EMT Madrid
Before starting the «Aladina Casa» project, the mayor of Madrid and the president of the Aladina Foundation presented the new campaign to combat childhood cancer at the Plaza de Cibels Foundation. To give visibility to this solidarity initiative in which it participated in 2021, the municipal company has triggered one of its buses.
EMT Madrid wanted to support, for the fifth consecutive year, the Aladina Foundation’s campaign, in tribute to children and adolescents affected by cancer. Under the slogan, the interior screens of the company’s more than 2,000 buses broadcast this awareness campaign these days.
The creativity of the municipal bus that EMT Madrid obtained in tribute to the affected carries the image of two children, Vega and Guille, accompanied by a message of optimism. A group of municipal company volunteers participated in the presentation law, already wearing the famous solidarity scarf.
The collaboration agreement between EMT Madrid and Fondacia Aladina is annual and was signed for the first time in 2021 to promote actions to enable children and adolescents with cancer and family environment. The municipal company then promised to make its internal and external channels available to the foundation to disseminate its initiatives, in addition to its group of volunteers.
In addition to supporting this campaign, EMT Madrid collaborated on other solidarity actions of the Aladina Foundation, such as the one organized in December 2022, with the contribution of a solidarity bus to collect toys for these sick children and adolescents, where this is this. It also participated in the Corte Ingles. Another common solidarity initiative was the transfer of 30 Ukrainian children with cancer, in March 2022, to different hospital centers in Madrid. EMT Madrid said, in both actions, with the support of the municipal company’s volunteers. The area of social policies, family, and equality, led by José Fernández, signed an agreement in 2023 with the Aladina Foundation that establishes common collaboration in the development of dissemination and organization activities of the «Paduel Challenge» Project. Within this alliance, the Madrid Municipal Council promoted, together with the entity, the institutional right organized today at the Cibels Palace, in which a round table was also organized, in which health professionals, oncology patients, and oncological patients participated. family.
The agreement between the consistency and the entity, renewed until 2026, also takes into account actions to raise awareness among citizens, to give visibility to childhood cancer, mainly around the International Day of Sugar Fight until this end, the Madrid Municipal Council has waived another year to the municipal institutional advertising circuit to publicize this campaign.

The Aladina Foundation has been working for over 16 years to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families through a comprehensive support program. The entity collaborates in 20 public hospitals in Spain, maintains collaboration agreements with several international foundations, and benefits over 2,000 minors and their families each year.
