DesafIA Madrid abre convocatoria de retos para emprendedores y pymes

The City Council of Madrid presented on Monday at La Nave, a leading innovation center in the city, eight challenges with the aim of having startups, entrepreneurs, and small companies contribute their solutions, «an example of the challenges that private companies or the public administration face on a daily basis,» as defined by the Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ángel Niño. Therefore, the City Council stated, «we want to promote and involve all the agents of the Madrid entrepreneurial ecosystem, which holds great technological talent, in the creation of innovative solutions.»

This first edition of DesafIA Madrid, an initiative promoted by the Delegated Area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, aims to create a space where private organizations and the administration itself can find and test disruptive solutions implemented by the entrepreneurial ecosystem through the following challenges:

– ONCE: How would you be able to improve the experience of a visually impaired user in a health center?
– Pfizer: How would you create an automated training space for operators in a manufacturing plant without having to be physically present in the plant and using machinery at the same time?
– Akkodis: How would you optimize the process of posting job offers to make them clear and concise for applicants?
– Sacyr: What strategy would you implement to improve deadline control in construction projects so that they align with reality?

Additionally, different departments of the City Council itself launch the following challenges:

– Madrid Talento: How would you identify and connect with young talent who want to transform public administration?
– Subdirectorate General for the Conservation of Green Areas and Urban Trees: How could you anticipate the needs and risks associated with street trees and green areas in the city to optimize urban maintenance services?
– General Directorate of Transparency and Quality: What tool would you integrate to improve the quality and automate validations when publishing open data?
– Mercamadrid: What would be the best way to collect and manage data to enhance analysis and reduce manual work?

Eight solutions and 220,000 euros for pilot development

Startups or small companies wanting to register can do so from today, April 28, until May 16 on the page enabled on Madrid Innovation Lab: Subsequently, a single solution will be selected for each challenge to work hand in hand with the leading organization and implement the solution, that is, a minimum viable product (MVP).

For this purpose, there is around 220,000 euros for funding all pilots, personalized support will be offered, mentoring, guidance for attracting investors, technical and strategic support, visibility at entrepreneurial ecosystem events, and access to key contacts for networking.

In the final phase, the pilots will be tested, and the results obtained will be showcased at demo days and other innovative ecosystem events such as 4FYN and South Summit. /
