Vecinos afectados por la línea 7B de Metro de Madrid anuncian nuevas movilizaciones

Varias personas protestan en una manifestación por las afecciones de las obras de la línea 7B de Metro

The Platform of Affected People by Metro line 7B in San Fernando de Henares has announced a new schedule of mobilizations in this locality as well as in the neighboring Coslada and Madrid in the coming months to demand that the administrations fulfill their «duty» and offer solutions to those affected.

So far, dozens of people have gathered this Tuesday outside the office for the affected in the Community of Madrid, at Argumosa Street 20 in the municipality, under the slogan ‘A dignified home for A dignified home’.

A new protest aiming to demand solutions to the situation they have been experiencing due to the expansion works of this subway line for over 16 years, for which «all representatives of the administrations at their different levels are responsible, either for direct action of harm, or for the omission of assistance to the victims.»

In statements to Europa Press, Alejandro Escribano, spokesperson for the Platform of Affected by Metro line 7B, has stated that the protests will continue in the coming months in San Fernando, Coslada, and Madrid.

«We will take to the streets in the coming months to demand from all public administrations that they fulfill their duty, that they fix this problem.»

Escribano referred to the regional government «as the main responsible party,» as well as to municipalities and the central government «as administrations that have resources and tools to improve the situation of the affected neighbors.»

SECURITY IN COSLADA

The organizers of Tuesday’s concentration have also denounced what they consider a lack of information about the works carried out in Coslada, also affected by the subway works.

The Minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructures, Jorge Rodrigo, recently met with the mayor of the town, Ángel Viveros, to address the «preventive» actions being carried out in the municipality in relation to Metro line 7B.

As communicated at that time, the Community of Madrid plans to reopen the stretch between Barrio del Puerto and Hospital del Henares, closed since July 27, «in the summer or in September.»

The Community will grant a 100% tax bonus to those affected by Metro line 7B for home purchase-related taxes

«Security is guaranteed and it has nothing to do with what happened in the past in the municipality of San Fernando,» emphasized the minister.

«I appeal to the tranquility of the neighbors and social entities, and above all, I ask them not to generate social alarm where there is none because security is guaranteed 100%,» he added.

However, the affected individuals criticize the regional government for not sharing «technical data that support the various interventions that have been taking place for over three years» in the San Fernando area and have now extended to Coslada for «months.»

ACTION PLAN

The Ministry has been implementing a Comprehensive Action Plan in phases since the beginning of the works, aimed at consolidating and resolving the damages suffered by the infrastructure.

In parallel, the regional government announced the 100% bonus on autonomous management taxes related to home purchase for the affected in San Fernando de Henares.

The Community of Madrid also launched a line of aid for SMEs and individual entrepreneurs in the commercial and service sectors in the area.
