CentroCentro, a space within the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Area of the City Council of Madrid, joins Estación Podcast for the third consecutive year. This Ibero-American festival is a reference in sound creation and will be back from May 20 to 24, once again turning Madrid into the world capital of Spanish podcasting. For four days, the city will become the epicenter of audio with an intense program featuring influential voices from the podcasting ecosystem and industry of Spain and Ibero-America.
This municipal space will present a new in-house production program, CentroCentro en podcast, exclusively at Estación Podcast. The program will be hosted by Maya Pixelskaya in its first three episodes. The communicator, who is also a painter and designer, will be joined by three artists currently exhibiting at CentroCentro. These creators from different generations will discuss creativity, work processes, and the experience of shaping their projects in CentroCentro’s exhibition spaces. On Thursday, May 22, at 8:00 p.m., Maya Pixelskaya will chat with Mar Solís about her exhibition Origen. On Friday, May 23, at 8:00 p.m., Almudena Lobera and her work Secuencia. Plano. Secuencia will be in focus. On Saturday, May 24, at 12:00 p.m., the host will converse with Juan Navarro Baldeweg, who will inaugurate his exhibition at CentroCentro titled Hacer y azar on June 12. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
Additionally, CentroCentro will host live podcasts: Casi lista y casi guapa, inspired by Aquí no hay quien viva, with @raquelescobarr and @sanabriassanalizan; A pachas, the podcast of Madrid secreto, with @miricacho and @elsalmorejero; and Coquetas y bravas, a conversation between two friends discussing the complexities of being 25 and navigating adulthood.
The podcasts will be enjoyed in CentroCentro’s Jorge Berlanga room. Admission is free, but invitations must be downloaded in advance from the festival’s website.
Estación Podcast, which has attracted over 12,000 spectators in previous editions, will have the Espacio Cultural Serrería Belga as its main venue this year. New collaborators like Metro de Madrid, hosting live recordings; Palacio de la Prensa, where key activities will take place; and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), exploring the connection between science and audio, have been added. /
