The delegate of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, has received the three winning students of the contest organized by the City Council of Madrid and the University of Design, Innovation, and Technology (UDIT), whose goal was to design a creativity inspired by the Puerta de Alcalá, with the aim of promoting and boosting this monument as an iconic image of the city.

More than 100 students from this university participated with different creative proposals, among which 11 were preselected. Finally, the winning projects were those of Paulina Abelló Jiménez, Carla Kaubish Granados, and David Valeiro Sanjurjo, students of the Degree in Multimedia and Graphic Design of UDIT.

Paulina Abelló Jiménez’s proposal, in which she merges typography and photography, conveys an aesthetic with subtle references to modernist style. On the other hand, Carla Kaubish Granados has created two complementary pieces in which she combines a minimalist photograph, inspired by the Dogma style, with typography that flows through the Puerta de Alcalá. Finally, David Valeiro Sanjurjo has opted for a vibrant and colorful proposal that evokes the Madrid figuration of the 80s.  /
