The Madrid City Council has agreed today in the Government Board to extend the contract of the QuedaT.com program, which allows for a social and educational intervention with adolescents and young people between the ages of 14 and 20 through leisure and free time activities. As explained by the deputy mayor and municipal spokesperson, Inma Sanz, the City Council has authorized the allocation of 2.1 million euros to continue the project until April 2026. In this way, an initiative that promotes the development of skills and attitudes for personal and group growth among these young people is maintained.
QuedaT.com is implemented in 16 districts of the city, in areas with a higher risk of social exclusion; in fact, the program places greater emphasis on supporting young people in vulnerable situations. The socio-educational intervention carried out with the users is deployed through street education activities and the dynamization of spaces for youth participation.
The actions aim not only to promote inclusion and equal opportunities for the young participants but also to facilitate the better integration of the young population in environments characterized by diversity. Thus, respect for the values of coexistence is promoted, and work is done to create bonds of affection and belonging.
Under the umbrella of this resource, actions are also carried out to prevent health issues from a biopsychosocial perspective in alcohol and substance consumption. It also prevents isolation, sedentary lifestyle, eating disorders, and problems arising from the inappropriate use of new technologies and social networks.
