The cultural agenda of the Community of Madrid is highlighted this weekend by the premiere of the show «Hacia ecos de lo sagrado,» by the Nao d’Amores company, directed by Ana Zamora, a key figure in the recovery and reinterpretation of medieval and Renaissance theater. This production takes place in the ruins of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María la Real de Valdeiglesias, in Pelayos de la Presa, featuring a cast including Alfonso Barreno, Juan Díaz de Corcuera, Rafael Ortiz, Alejandro Pau, Elena Rayos, María Alejandra Saturno, Carlos Seguí, and Isabel Zamora.

The project focuses on the sense of hearing, particularly music and spoken word, and is a production of the regional government for Teatros del Canal. The website provides detailed information about the show, performances, and ticketing.

Additionally, the regional government is hosting the 2nd edition of «Veranos en el parque,» a free cultural program for all audiences at Parque de Santander in the capital. This includes the premiere of the first family show by the Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid, titled «Patrimonio,» running daily at 22:00 until July 19. The performance features choreographies for Rimsky Korsakov’s «Capricho Español,» Manuel de Falla’s «La vida breve,» Joaquín Turina’s «Zambra,» and flamenco pieces.

Furthermore, the «Escenas de Verano» festival, now in its 6th edition, continues to offer a diverse cultural program in 158 municipalities, with over 250 artistic activities. The «Clásicos en Verano» cycle presents music by artists like Inés Alonso & La Zarzamora, Vivalma Ensemble, Ismael Campanero, Collegium Musicum Madrid, and more in different locations across the region.

Various forms of entertainment, including theater, music, cinema, and circus, will animate the streets and squares of towns. Companies like La Fam Teatre and La Barraca de Cine will perform, along with La Fábrica de Sueños presenting the show «Pirratas» in Guadalix de la Sierra and Patones. In addition, musical performances like «Ellas mienten como mienten los boleros» by Inés León and Samuel Cristóbal can be enjoyed in different locations.

The «Cine de Verano» program continues to bring family-friendly movies to various municipalities. In Madrid, the Centro Cultural Paco Rabal is hosting the «Semana del cine mexicano» in collaboration with the Fundación Casa de México en España, as well as the dance show «Impasibles» by Lucía Montes & Mado Dallery.

The regional cultural centers like Comarcal de Humanidades Sierra Norte and Cultural Pilar Miró are also offering diverse programs, including the 6th edition of the «Festival Cirqueando.»

The Community of Madrid is celebrating the 5th edition of the «Águila Mueve» film festival at El Águila cultural complex, showcasing films by Madrid-born Oscar-winning director José Luis Garci. The festival features classics like «El crack,» «Asignatura pendiente,» and «Sangre de mayo.»

In the Casa Museo de Lope de Vega, the activity «Pequeteatreo» offers children’s theater performances on Saturdays and Sundays in July. The «Ópera a quemarropa» festival presents intimate opera adaptations, including Grigori Frid’s «El diario de Ana Frank» in Alcalá de Henares.

Various exhibitions in museums and galleries across the region provide a rich cultural experience. Shows like «Madrid Icono Pop 1964-1979,» «Al compás de Madrid,» «Un tiempo para mirar (1970-2020),» «Materia afectiva,» «Ría,» «Flor Hispania,» «¡Hispano! Gladiadores en el Imperio Romano,» and «Alma de cántaro. Cacharrería y oficios alfareros desde tiempos de Cervantes» are on display in different locations.

Guided tours and events are also available at places like the Museo Picasso – Colección Eugenio Arias and the Museo Arqueológico y Paleontológico de la Comunidad de Madrid. The Red Itiner program ensures that exhibitions reach numerous municipalities, promoting access to art and cultural decentralization.
