The delegate of Housing Policies and president of the Municipal Housing and Land Company (EMVS Madrid), Álvaro González, and the dean of the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM), Sigfrido Herráez, have inaugurated the office of the Information Service on Building Rehabilitation in Madrid (SIREM), a new information point located at COAM.
This service reinforces the support for the rehabilitation processes carried out by the Housing Policies Area to all sectors: citizens, private sector, and professional sector, in this case through professional associations. Given that 80% of the documentation provided for these subsidies is technical (execution project, work budgets, energy certificates, etc.), it is precisely the technicians from the College of Architects who can best guide citizens on their preparation. Therefore, COAM will carry out technical and support tasks in providing information to citizens at the new information point located at its headquarters, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours and free of charge.
González emphasized that «just as the legal orientation services that the City Council already provides in the district councils in housing management through the Housing Advisory Service (SAVMadrid), the City Council considers it essential to also offer information and guidance services in rehabilitation.»
In the office, citizens will be able to access information on the requirements, conditions, and content of the Rehabilita Madrid Plans processed by the City Council; they will find help in completing the applications and documentation to be submitted in the corresponding calls for these plans; they will have the possibility to review the applications and documentation submitted; they will receive technical assistance from the authors of project works and other actions established in these plans and from municipal technical services, allowing them to compile, on an annual basis, statistics on the inquiries handled. /
