Today, the Local Government Board has approved the authorization for the occupation of public roads by the Department of Tourism for the celebration of Complutum Renacida 2025, which will take place from April 29 to May 9.
The authorization approved today, driven by the Delegated Department of Works, Urban Maintenance, and Municipal Buildings, will allow the occupation of public spaces to deploy an ambitious program of activities in the historic center and the archaeological site of Complutum.
The first deputy mayor and councilor for Tourism, Isabel Ruiz Maldonado, has announced that «this year, 2025, Complutum Renacida comes stronger than ever, offering residents and visitors great proposals such as Hispano, gladiators in the Roman Empire, the successful Circus Maximus of the Roman Market, and with its camp at the doors of the new Antiquarium, where more than 120 historical reenactors have already confirmed their presence.»
«Complutum Renacida is one of the great tourist proposals of the Department of Tourism, and it has the collaboration of other municipal areas such as Culture or Heritage. Thanks to this joint work, the month of May becomes a unique opportunity to rediscover our city,» added Ruiz Maldonado.
During these days, the historic center and the surroundings of the Roman site will come to life with shows, parades, reenactments, workshops, and gastronomy, turning Alcalá into an authentic journey to the past. «We invite all residents and visitors to enjoy this unique experience in the city of 2,000 years of history. Alcalá Renacida is a must-see,» concluded the councilor.
