Más de 300.000 euros de venta en 120 comercios

More than a hundred participating businesses, over 300,000 euros in generated sales, more than 8,000 residents benefited, with 99.99% of the vouchers redeemed. These are some of the figures resulting from the Consumer Voucher Campaign promoted by the City Council of Parla, through the Center for Business Initiatives, to support and promote local commerce and help make purchases more affordable for the public. This week, in collaboration with the Department of Culture, the campaign «Poetry goes shopping» is being held, and the CIE is already working on the upcoming Tapas Fair and Stock Fair.

Over 300,000 euros in sales across 120 businesses

The City Council and 120 establishments in Parla have concluded one of the most successful and well-received municipal campaigns in support of local commerce, with figures such as generated sales amounting to 317,166 euros.

This is the Consumer Vouchers campaign. It took place between February 5th and March 11th. Residents were able to download 12,526 vouchers worth 10 euros each from the first week. In the following weeks, the vouchers that had been downloaded but not redeemed were made available.

This was explained by the Councilor for Commerce, Gema García Torres, who stated that «once again we highly value the positive outcome of the Consumer Voucher Parla commercial revitalization campaign.»

Over 8,000 residents benefited from the discounts

Every person over 18 years old registered on the campaign website could download a maximum of three vouchers, which the recipients were able to use, one at a time, for every 20 euros spent at participating establishments. In total, 8,053 buyers have used these discount vouchers.

To provide the opportunity to increase their sales to all participating businesses, each one had a maximum of 200 vouchers to redeem throughout the campaign. All 34 establishments redeemed them, with 54 redeeming over a hundred and 80 businesses redeeming 50 vouchers.

Food, fashion, bookstore, optics, and hairdressing and beauty, the preferred sectors for cheaper shopping

Regarding the preference of customers when taking advantage of the discounts in this campaign, the sectors that were most utilized were food (which received 3,785 vouchers), followed by fashion and accessories (1,474 vouchers), bookstore and stationery (1,204), followed by services such as optics, which received 1,118 vouchers, and hairdressing and beauty, which redeemed 893 vouchers.

After the successful conclusion of this campaign, the Center for Business Initiatives has promoted «Poetry goes shopping,» an initiative to boost visits to businesses, which are now adorned with verses and rhymes to commemorate World Poetry Day.

In addition, Gema García Torres has announced that «we continue to work. Due to inclement weather, we had to postpone the Craft Fair, but the revitalization campaigns do not stop, and we are already preparing the second edition of the Tapas Fair, which will take place in May, and the tenth edition of the Stock Fair.»

All with the aim of supporting and revitalizing economic activity in the municipality and, of course, raising awareness among citizens about the importance of local commerce,» concluded Gema García Torres.
