Procesión de Viernes de Dolores en Alcalá de Henares

The mayor Judith Piquet, along with councilors Antonio Saldaña, Orlena de Miguel, and Pilar Cruz, participated in this ‘Friday of Sorrows’ in the ‘Via Crucis of Jesus Captive’, organized by the ‘Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Agony, Maria Most Holy of Sorrows and San Juan’ with the musical accompaniment of the percussion battery of the Musical Group of La Soledad de Madrid.

Tradition marks the Friday of Sorrows as the day when Holy Week in Alcalá de Henares dresses up and begins its days of passion. On this occasion, after half an hour of procession and due to the rain, the Captive returned to the ‘Convent of Santa Ursula’. With the significant participation of Civil Protection and Local Police, a subsequent and emotional event held inside the convent marked the last step before the start of the ‘Holy Week of Alcalá’.
