The Sports Councilor, Sonia Cea, accompanied by the Center Councilor, Carlos Segura, presented today at the headquarters of the Neighborhood Association La Corrala the 43rd edition of the San Lorenzo Trophy, with more than 700 participants already registered. The race, one of the most emblematic popular events of the Madrid summer, serves as a prelude to the traditional Festivities of San Cayetano, San Lorenzo, and Virgen de La Paloma, and will take place on Sunday, July 20, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Organized by the Central Municipal Board and the Recreational Group of Argumosa, it will feature three routes adapted to different ages. The main route, 10 kilometers long and for participants over 16 years old, will pass through iconic places in the center of Madrid such as Atocha, Valencia, Toledo, and Segovia rounds, the Virgen del Puerto promenade, the San Vicente slope, Bailén street, Gran Vía de San Francisco, Puerta de Toledo, Sacramento and Mayor streets, Puerta del Sol, and Paseo del Prado, ending on Argumosa street. In addition, there will be a 950-meter children’s route for participants aged 8 to 15, starting and finishing in Argumosa, passing through Doctor Fourquet, Valencia, Salitre, and Doctor Piga streets, and a 50-meter route for children aged 5 to 7 on Argumosa street.
Registration for the 10-kilometer race costs 12 euros and can be done through the website trofeosanlorenzo.es, remaining open until July 18 or until the 1,200 available spots are filled. Bibs, chips, and t-shirts can be collected from July 15 to 19, from 11:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00, at the La Corrala headquarters, located at number 38 Calle Lavapiés. Registrations for children’s categories can be done from July 15 to 19 at the same venue, with a symbolic cost of one euro and authorization from a mother, father, or legal guardian. /
