Majadahonda mejora la accesibilidad de sus calles con una inversión de 168.872,14 euros

Mejora en las calles de Majadahonda

The Ayuntamiento de Majadahonda has invested a total of 168,872.14 euros in accessibility improvement works on various paths and streets in the municipality, carried out in the last two months as part of the Global Urban Development Plan.

Among the most notable is the improvement of the dirt paths located between Coto Blanco Street and Carretera de Pozuelo, frequented by a large number of citizens daily.

These works, with an investment of 47,555.32 euros, have involved the conditioning of all paths and the layout of a new one, with the installation of new LED lighting, equipped with point-to-point telegestion and replacement of the sidewalk.

Also worth mentioning are the accessibility improvement works on Virgen de Loreto Street, where 45,948.70 euros have been invested. In this case, a new platform for the sidewalk has been built, as some sections had raised areas due to roots and narrowing due to the placement of tree pits that hindered transit at the height of number 12 on the street.

In this way, the width of the sidewalks has been increased; a new line of curbs has been installed in the parking area, now in line, with repainting of road markings, and the tree pits swollen by roots have been repaired, removing their curbs and installing drainage pavement.

In Erillas Street, responding to the requests of residents as in previous cases, the lighting points that caused narrowing of the sidewalks, glare, and dark areas have been renewed and relocated.

Old foundations have been demolished and spurs have been placed where the new columns with appropriate heights and powers (according to lighting study) and LED luminaires are installed. Additionally, sidewalk repairs and reorganization of parking spaces have been carried out, with special attention to Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM) parking spaces. All these works have had an investment of 43,848.84 euros.

To these recent actions, we must add the sidewalk conditioning and removal of architectural barriers carried out between numbers 20 and 22 on Monjitas Street, and at number 2 on San Manuel Street, improving accessibility for people with reduced mobility. Likewise, works have been done in the area of Travesía de Navaluenga, Rodas Street, and Siroco Street, where residents had reported difficulties for people with reduced mobility to move around.

For this reason, improvements have been made to the slopes, sidewalk leveling, and reviewing sections with loose tiles. These completed works will be joined in the coming weeks by others included in the Global Urban Development Plan, currently under execution, with the same objectives: improving maintenance of public roads and the mobility and accessibility of citizens, especially the elderly and those with mobility challenges.
