Jornadas capACIty en Alcobendas: Formación y reflexión sobre altas capacidades

This weekend, the Miguel Delibes Space and the Alcobendas Art Center will host the I capACIty Conference, an event that will bring together education professionals, families, experts in psychopedagogy and health with the aim of addressing the needs of students with high abilities, as well as the importance of proper identification and evaluation to ensure adequate attention in educational centers.
These conferences will take place this Friday, March 14th, and Saturday, March 15th, thanks to the organization of the Alcobendas City Council and the Ciudad de Alcobendas Foundation, with the collaboration of AMACI, the Madrid Association of High Intellectual Capacities.

Friday, March 14th: Teacher Training
During the I capACIty Conference, and coinciding with the International Day of High Intellectual Capacities, teachers will have access to an exclusive session where they will learn strategies, tools, and best practices to identify and support students with high abilities, ensuring their proper development within the classroom.
This training session will take place at «El Cubo» in the Miguel Delibes Space in Alcobendas. Rafael Dávila, educational counselor and expert, will open these conferences by explaining the consequences of not attending to students with high abilities.
Afterwards, teachers will participate in various workshops:
·       Teresa Fernández Reyes, director of Centro Cadis, will show «how to detect to intervene.»
·       Víctor Miñana, Eva Castroviejo, and Virginia Jiménez will teach how to create a «multilevel classroom» designed for all students.
·       Inés Cabezas and Susana García Moya will discuss the «tools for attention in the classroom.»
·       Judith Acebes will conduct a workshop on «executive functions, calling from the control tower.»
 
Saturday, March 15th: The reality of high abilities
On Saturday, March 15th, the Paco de Lucía Auditorium at the Alcobendas Art Center will host the second session of the capACIty Conference, to create a space for learning and collaboration among education professionals, families, and experts, in order to improve the attention given to students with high abilities.
The initiative seeks to raise awareness about the need to implement educational strategies that promote their integral development with these experts and references in high abilities:
·       Luz Pérez: «Education, talent, and Artificial Intelligence.»
·       Sylvia Sastre: «High ability, beyond the Intelligence Quotient.»

·       Margarita Colodrón: «The importance of family associations.»
·       Beatriz Sánchez (Brave Mom): «Double exceptionality.»
·       Alejandro Bustos and Olga Carmona: «Ages in High Abilities.»
·       Inés Cabezas and Susana García Moya: «Protocols and ordinary measures in the classroom.»
·       Jana Martínez Piqueras: «Mental health in High Abilities.»
·       Beatriz Belinchón and Ana Gloria Sánchez: «High Abilities at home: how to support from the family.»
·       Teresa Fernández Reyes will moderate the round table: «Study, intelligence, and humor,» which will feature comedians Raúl Navareño, Coria Castillo, Velilla Balbuena, Esther Gimeno, Charlie Under, Héctor J. Sanz Bernabé, and Sara Escudero.

Sold out tickets, but can be followed via streaming
Tickets to attend the I capACIty Conference in person sold out within days of announcing the event. However, interested individuals can follow the event in real time via streaming.
The in-person ticket has a symbolic cost of €20. All proceeds are allocated to two associations in Alcobendas that work in favor of integration and diversity: EPMA Association (The Little World of Álvaro) and Norte Joven.
