The Vice Mayor of Madrid, Inma Sanz, accompanied by the delegate of Economy, Innovation, and Finance, Engracia Hidalgo, has participated in the closing of the Autonomous Congress of CSIF (Independent and Civil Servants Trade Union), where the regional president of the union was elected for the next four years.
In her speech, Sanz highlighted «the fundamental role of CSIF not only in defending public employees, but also in the development of modern State administrations; a dual role that is of particular importance in times like the ones we are living, marked by intense social and political polarization.» The Vice Mayor has advocated for politics as «a space for encounter and dialogue» and emphasized that the City Council and the union maintain a dialogue based on «respect, loyalty, and mutual recognition,» values that «provide security in times of uncertainty.»
Since 2019, the City Council and CSIF have addressed a total of 13 main agreements, with the union voting in favor of nine of them. The first was the Human Resources Transformation Strategy of the City of Madrid, which has made possible the increase of over 7,500 positions in selection processes, the first list of job positions for municipal labor personnel, the launch of Madrid Talent, or the first call for public employment positions for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
To this agreement have been added the one on teleworking, from September 2020, the classification and organization of labor personnel, the agreement related to the Occupational Risk Prevention Plan in November 2020, the second and third Equality Plans, in 2021 and 2023, respectively, or the agreements with the Police, in 2022; with Mobility Agents, in 2023, and with Firefighters (both in technical and operational scales), in 2024.
