Spanish illusionist Jorge Blass, Korean magician Hun Lee, and Canadian illusionist Darcy Oake
Under the leadership of renowned illusionist Jorge Blas, the XV International Magic Festival in Madrid returns to the Price Circus Theatre, a space managed by the area of culture, tourism, and sports, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year. Between February 6 and March 9, this event will transform Madrid into the world capital of Magic, bringing together some of the best national and international magic in a show that attracts over 30,000 spectators each year.
Close-up Magic: An intimate and unforgettable experience
The festival kicks off with the Close-up Magic show from February 6 to 9, in the cozy parish. In this intimate space, three world-renowned illusions will captivate the audience: Isaac Jurado, who combines humor and wit with surprising magical effects; Danish John Steiner, who uses everyday objects like phones and credit cards; And José, it’s me, who defies logic with incredible tricks that fascinate both spectators and fellow magicians.
International Gala Stage: the best of the magic world
The heart of the festival is the International Gala, which will have 28 performances at the Circo Price Theatre. This unique show brings together the best exponents of the magical art, from aerial acrobatics with costume changes by Diego and Elena, to the grand illusions of Canadian Darcy Oake. Also, highlight the performance of the Magic Voronin Comic Master (Ukraine), the innovative manipulation of the era by Hun Lee (South Korea), and the magic of the French bartender Adrian Kill. Jorge Blas, recently awarded Stage Magician of the Year by the Hollywood Magic Arts Academy, will present exclusive acts specially designed for the festival.
«Magical Dialogues»: beyond illusion
The festival also proposes a reflection on the art of magic through «Magical Dialogues». Abracadabra, the power of magic in solidarity will explore the impact of magic and its transformative capacity in fields such as psychology and health, with supportive illusionists and experts like Fernando Botella, Lary León, Jorge Blas, Passion Vega, Jacob Suraeda, Sonia Clavero, and Pablo Carbonell. In His Deception and Illusions, Jorge Blas will discuss with Jordi Camí, Doctor in Medicine and professor at Pompeu Fabra University, about the connection between magic and deception.
New recognitions and talents
During the festival, the Madrid Magic City Talents contest will take place to reward the most innovative proposals from young illusionists. Additionally, the Madrid Magic City award, which recognizes figures contributing to the world of magic, will be given this year to Angel Idígas, a reference in Spanish graphic humor, illusionist, and writer. Recognized for his work in the magazine Jueves and the newspaper El Mundo, along with his brother Pachi, Idigoras has made a profound mark on society, establishing himself as one of the great geniuses of the genre. The award will be presented on Thursday, February 13 at 8:00 p.m.
Furthermore, on February 18 and 19, at 12:00 p.m., the Price Circus Theatre will open its doors to create the most charitable magic. Wizards and Magas from the Abracadabra Foundation will perform two solidarity shows aimed at associations and disadvantaged groups. With a program that combines tradition and innovation, the International Magic Festival of Madrid promises five weeks full of amazement and creativity that will captivate audiences of all ages.
