The Leganés City Council, through the Department of Environment, continues its sustainability and urban improvement strategy. During the months of March and April, the planting of around 700 new trees is underway in various areas of the municipality with the aim of enhancing green spaces, promoting biodiversity, and contributing to environmental well-being. This Sunday, the 30th, at 11:30 am, a popular tree planting event of over a hundred trees has been organized in Hispanidad Park, to which all residents and associations of Leganés are invited.

This Sunday’s popular tree planting event in Hispanidad Park will serve as a celebration to welcome spring. There will be open days at the urban gardens, a concert by the group «SinSalida», children’s activities with dynamic entertainers, a photo booth, distribution of plants, face painting, QR code posters with information on the park’s fauna and flora, machinery exhibition, water bottle distribution, and other children’s activities.
«We invite all residents to actively participate in these events to make Leganés a greener and more sustainable place. In addition to planting a tree, the main goal, they can participate in all the activities prepared with entertainers, face painting, a concert, and take home a plant and a souvenir,» detailed the Councilor for Environment, Violeta Bonet.
In total, residents will help plant one hundred trees of the species melia (Melia azedarach), mulberry (Morus alba), holm oak (Quercus ilex), olive (Olea europea), and almond (Prunus dulcis). Save the Children, Red Cross, Kubota, YLaTierra, and Althenia will participate with their own activities.
