Coslada, a town in Madrid, has joined the campaign ‘Here is a pharmacist’, with the aim of «strengthening the role of pharmacists as key agents in health prevention and promotion.»

The initiative will offer residents free tests such as bone density measurement, cardiovascular analysis, skin type evaluation, and personalized advice.

During the campaign presentation, the president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Madrid, Manuel Martínez, explained that «what we are doing with this campaign is to highlight the role of the pharmacist as a gateway to the healthcare system, promoting pharmaceutical care as a preventive service in public health.»

For the Health and Consumer councilor, Rubén Aguilar, «preventive health is essential, and thanks to this collaboration, we will bring accessible healthcare services to the streets.»

This campaign will reach the municipality on June 11 and 12 with a mobile health unit that will be set up at Paseo Dolores Ibárruri and will be operational on June 11 from 10:00 to 21:00 and on June 12 only in the morning.

The vocal from the Pharmacy Office, José Manuel Becerra, in charge of the campaign’s development, has indicated that «pharmaceutical professionals from the city will attend in the mobile unit conducting a series of screenings, based on which results can refer the person to a doctor.»
