The Madrid City Council has announced the third edition of the Third Sector Awards, aimed at recognizing and supporting projects from social entities that generate a positive impact on the city. The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until June 12.
The purpose of these awards, under the Vice Mayor’s Area, Spokesperson, Security, and Emergencies within the Strategic Subsidies Plan 2024-2027 of the Madrid City Council, is to promote and showcase social initiatives that, through products, services, models, or processes, provide an efficient, sustainable, and transformative response to the challenges faced by the city, while promoting collaboration mechanisms with other stakeholders.
Through this recognition, the City Council highlights the work of social entities in Madrid and their ability to respond to emerging needs from a social, economic, and environmental perspective with particular attention to situations of vulnerability and exclusion.
The awards are aimed at associations, federations, confederations, unions of grassroots associations, and foundations registered in the Municipal Census of Entities and Citizen Collectives. Groupings of entities may also participate.
Projects carried out during 2024, as well as those in progress that started at least six months before the publication of the call, can be submitted. In all cases, the projects must have been developed wholly or partially in the city of Madrid.
In this edition, the awards will be distributed as follows:
First prize: 60,000 euros.
Second prize: 40,000 euros.
Third prize: 20,000 euros.
Fourth prize: 15,000 euros.
Additionally, the jury may award up to five honorable mentions, each endowed with 3,000 euros, in recognition of the quality and relevance of other non-awarded initiatives.
This call reinforces the commitment of the Madrid City Council to promoting public-social collaboration, consolidating a network of cooperation with third sector entities as key agents for the transformation of the city. /
