Concierto de la Banda Sinfónica Municipal en honor a Madrid

Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Madrid en la Plaza Mayor

Last night, the Plaza Mayor hosted the traditional concert of the San Isidro Festival offered by the Municipal Symphony Band of Madrid, as part of the program organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sports. Hundreds of people gathered to enjoy this musical proposal, already established as one of the most iconic and anticipated moments of the celebrations in honor of the city’s patron saint.

Under the title Nuestro Madrid, the Municipal Symphony Band, conducted by Maestro Jan Cober, presented a repertoire composed of pieces and fragments representative of the city, in an evening where carnations, chotis, and cuplés took center stage. Works like La chica del 17; La Gran Vía or Madrid, Madrid, Madrid were part of the program that paid tribute to Madrid’s folklore and cultural identity.

The concert featured the voices of sopranos María Rodríguez and Ana San Martín, baritone Gerardo Bullón, and tenor Alberto Porcel, as well as a surprise performance by Plácido Domingo, who moved the audience in a night that combined tradition, music, and emotion in the heart of the capital.
