Comienza la XXII Muestra Escolar de Dibujo y Pintura en la Quinta de Cervantes

The XXII edition of the School Drawing and Painting Exhibition is being held at the Quinta de Cervantes exhibition hall until April 25th. This exhibition showcases the collective works of educational centers with individual or group projects from students.

The Councilor for Education, Lola López, has stated that the goal is to support and promote the artwork created around drawing and painting during the school year outside of educational institutions, creating a space for the exchange of experiences between teachers and students.

Poster Contest

Visitors and students attending the exhibition can vote for their favorite proposal, and the winner will be awarded the opportunity to be featured as the image for the next edition. During the previous exhibition, attendees had the chance to vote for the most impressive piece. The winning artwork, created by Colegio Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Filipenses, is the official image of this year’s exhibition.

On April 24th, the closing ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Quinta de Cervantes Gardens. At this event, representatives from the educational center, along with students, will receive a diploma and a framed poster as recognition of their achievement.

Additionally, this year, an honorable mention will be awarded to Colegio Santa María de la Providencia, whose representatives will also be recognized during the ceremony.

Drawing and Painting Exhibition

Each educational center this year has focused on a topic of their choice, working with students freely. The exhibition covers all school ages and educational levels, from nurseries and preschools (0-3 years), to primary (6-12 years), and secondary and high school (12-18 years). The variety of nuances, strokes, and textures showcased in the exhibition reflect the skills and abilities acquired and nurtured with age.

Participating Centers and Students

A total of 25 educational centers in Alcalá, including nursery schools, preschools, schools, and institutes, have participated in the exhibition with a total of 2,283 students. During the closing ceremony, over 250 students will receive diplomas, representing the more than 2000 participants throughout the school year.

The exhibition is open to the public until April 25th (excluding non-school days), with morning sessions from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by reservation and open access in the afternoon from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
