Apoyo del Ayuntamiento de Madrid a la internacionalización de pymes y al posicionamiento de la ciudad como destino de inversión

The delegate of Economy, Innovation, and Finance, Engracia Hidalgo, inaugurated today the Business Forum Challenges of the international environment: Redefining the company’s strategies, organized by the Chamber of Commerce as a space for analysis and reflection to understand the current global context and how it impacts business decision-making «and more in a city like Madrid, an economic capital and export hub, which forces us to rethink our economic strategies,» she explained.

During her speech, the economic delegate highlighted «the active role» of the City Council of Madrid in supporting the city’s business fabric, «accompanying it in its external projection» and, at the same time, «attracting and consolidating international investment that generates employment, knowledge, and added value.»

Hidalgo outlined the main lines of the strategy of the Area of Economy, Innovation, and Finance for «the internationalization of our SMEs» and the positioning of Madrid «as an attractive place to invest, grow, and generate employment,» with specific actions benefiting more than 10,000 companies since 2019.

The delegate emphasized the PYMEXT program, a tool to build solid international strategies focused on exportation, detecting opportunities in international organizations’ projects and digital commerce; business meetings with advice from over 169 foreign companies already operating in Madrid, an initiative «to consolidate the arrival of international investment in the city that has received over 20.000 million euros in the last year,» 81% of the total captured by the Community of Madrid and more than half of all received in Spain, or the 147 new greenfield investment projects valued at 4.600 million euros «that will generate 10.000 new jobs.» /
