El teatro Fernán Gómez. Centro Cultural de la Villa inaugurará su temporada 2025-26 con dos montajes teatrales —uno de ellos, un estreno absoluto— y una exposición con contenido inédito, que podrá verse a partir del 10 de septiembre. La programación, diseñada por el director artístico Juan Carlos Pérez de la Fuente en su segundo año al frente del teatro, se presentará oficialmente el próximo 5 de septiembre.
Leica. Un siglo de fotografía es el título de la exposición que celebra, a través de la obra de grandes fotógrafos internacionales, los cien años desde la creación de la primera cámara de la marca, la legendaria Leica I. Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Alberto Korda, Ralph Gibson, Sebastião Salgado, Steve McCurry, Joel Meyerovitz, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Ricard Terré, Gonzalo Juanes, Manolo Laguillo o Alberto García-Alix dan forma a un recorrido coral por la historia de la fotografía, que es también la historia de Leica.
La exposición reunirá 174 imágenes inolvidables e incluirá la representación española de casi una treintena de fotógrafos. Leica propone un recorrido visual que aborda temáticas de la fotografía de calle, el documento social, el paisaje urbano, el retrato o la naturaleza, acompañado de una selección de cámaras clásicas y material inédito que ilustran la profunda huella de la marca en la fotografía mundial. La muestra permitirá conocer la obra de grandes fotógrafos internacionales, desde el nacimiento del fotoperiodismo hasta la democratización de la imagen. Leica. Dos obras teatrales para inaugurar la temporada
El 11 de septiembre, la Sala Jardiel Poncela alzará el telón transformándose en un universo poético con el estreno de Poeta [perdido] en Nueva York, de El Aedo Teatro. Jesús Torres (Puños de harina) firma y protagoniza esta adaptación que entrelaza, en un monólogo íntimo, el desgarrador poemario y las cartas íntimas que Federico García Lorca escribió desde la Gran Manzana. Siguiendo la línea de la compañía en cuanto al cuidado de la dramaturgia y la puesta en escena, la obra enfrenta a Lorca con Federico en una lucha por encontrar su verdadera voz.
Por su parte, la Sala Guirau comenzará la temporada con un estreno absoluto, American Buffalo, escrita por el dramaturgo estadounidense David Mamet. Estrenada en 1975 en el Goodman Theatre de Chicago, en 1977 llegó a Broadway y recibió múltiples premios y nominaciones en todo el mundo. En 1996 se llevó al cine, protagonizada por Dustin Hoffman y Dennis Franz.
American Buffalo nos transporta al mundo de Don, el propietario de una tienda de chatarra en Chicago, y su intento de recuperar una valiosa moneda de ‘búfalo’ que vendió por una fracción de su valor real. Junto a su joven empleado Bob y su compañero de póquer Teach, se embarcan en un plan para robar la moneda de vuelta, desencadenando una serie de eventos llenos de intriga, tensión y sorpresas inesperadas.
La obra explora las complejas relaciones entre los personajes, así como temas universales como la avaricia, la amistad y el sacrificio. Israel Elejalde, David Lorente y Roberto Hoyo forman el elenco de este montaje con la traducción de Borja Ortiz de Gondra. La dirección es de Ignasi Vidal. Esta producción de Showprime se podrá ver desde el 16 de septiembre en la Sala Principal del teatro.

«Leica. A century of photography» is the title of the exhibition that celebrates, through the work of renowned international photographers, the hundred years since the creation of the brand’s first camera, the legendary Leica I. Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Alberto Korda, Ralph Gibson, Sebastião Salgado, Steve McCurry, Joel Meyerovitz, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Ricard Terré, Gonzalo Juanes, Manolo Laguillo, and Alberto García-Alix come together for a collective journey through the history of photography, which is also the history of Leica.
The exhibition will showcase 174 unforgettable images and will include the Spanish representation of almost thirty photographers. Leica offers a visual journey that addresses themes of street photography, social documentation, urban landscapes, portraiture, and nature, accompanied by a selection of classic cameras and unpublished material that illustrate the brand’s deep impact on global photography. **Two theatrical works to inaugurate the season**
On September 11, the Jardiel Poncela Room will raise the curtain, transforming into a poetic universe with the premiere of «Poeta [perdido] en Nueva York,» by El Aedo Teatro. Jesús Torres («Puños de harina») signs and stars in this adaptation that intertwines, in an intimate monologue, the heartbreaking poetry and intimate letters that Federico García Lorca wrote from the Big Apple. Following the company’s approach to careful dramaturgy and staging, the play confronts Lorca with Federico in a struggle to find his true voice. A map that transports us to the New York of the time while guiding us through the most intimate corners of a lost author with a whole life ahead.
Meanwhile, the Guirau Room will kick off the season with an absolute premiere, «American Buffalo,» written by American playwright David Mamet. Premiered in 1975 at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, it reached Broadway in 1977 and received numerous awards and nominations worldwide. In 1996, it was adapted for the screen, starring Dustin Hoffman and Dennis Franz.
«American Buffalo» takes us into the world of Don, the owner of a junk shop in Chicago, and his attempt to reclaim a valuable ‘buffalo’ coin that he sold for a fraction of its real value. Alongside his young employee Bob and his poker buddy Teach, they embark on a plan to steal the coin back, triggering a series of events full of intrigue, tension, and unexpected surprises.
The play explores the complex relationships between the characters, as well as universal themes such as greed, friendship, and sacrifice. Israel Elejalde, David Lorente, and Roberto Hoyo make up the cast of this production with the translation by Borja Ortiz de Gondra. The direction is by Ignasi Vidal. This Showprime production will be available for viewing from September 16 in the Main Room of the theater.
