After the blackout suffered yesterday throughout the Iberian Peninsula, Alcobendas has recovered normality and is already operating at 95%.
The Crisis Committee, composed of the Local Police, Civil Protection, and heads of the city’s main services and chaired by the acting mayor, Marta Martín, met immediately after the news of the widespread blackout to coordinate all emergency services and necessary actions to address the crisis situation.
The Committee has remained operational throughout the night and continues to carry out supervision work in different areas:
Mobility and transportation
• All traffic lights in Alcobendas are back in operation after yesterday’s blackout.
• The DGT recommends avoiding driving today if not strictly necessary, and if driving, extreme caution should be exercised until normality is fully restored.
• The use of public transportation is recommended. Transportation on Cercanías, intercity buses, EMT, and Metro is free.
• Metro de Madrid has started service at eight in the morning and is operating at 80%, and Cercanía at 50%.
Security
• Absolute normality in Alcobendas with no incidents reported during the night.
• Increased presence of the National Police and Local Police.
• SEMURA and Civil Protection Alcobendas are operating at maximum performance for emergencies, patient transfers, and reinforcement in elderly residences.
Education
• Public educational centers remain open, without teaching activities, to facilitate reconciliation, and food services are guaranteed.
Health
• The Health Department of the Community of Madrid has reported that Madrid hospitals did not experience any incidents last night and have fully restored the electricity supply.
• Health services have returned to normal in all centers.
Cleaning
• Waste collection and cleaning teams are working at 100% capacity.
Elderly
• All elderly centers in Alcobendas are open and operating normally.
• The telecare service is functioning at 100%, and contact is being made with users.
Citizen Assistance Service
Operating normally during regular hours.
Municipal facilities
All sports facilities, cultural centers, and mediatecas are open and functioning normally.
