For the first time, the Community of Madrid will launch a line of aid to enable Madrid sports entities to train their collectives in digital competencies. This measure will enhance the technological skills of coaches, managers, referees, administrators, managers, and athletes, among others.

This was announced today by the Digitalization Adviser, Miguel López-Valverde, after visiting the facilities of the Valdelasfuentes Sports City in Alcobendas, where he stated that the objective of this initiative is to «contribute to the advancement of these associations in the professionalization of their management, and thereby promote the growth and modernization of the social fabric of Madrid in the field of physical activity.»

The only requirement to apply for these grants will be to be 14 years old or older. The courses, which will be delivered through the Madrid Digital Classroom platform, can be taken in face-to-face, online, or blended mode, and will have a duration of 7.5 hours.

The contents of the itineraries that students can access will include technology for monitoring physical exercise and injury prevention; training management; digital editing of images and videos to create technical and tactical content; mobile phone use for health monitoring and recovery, and useful applications for athletes.

This first call for aid is supported by the European Next Generation funds, aligning with the Digital Citizen Training Plan launched by the regional government with the aim of training more than 78,000 people in digital skills.
