Yesterday, the Vacation Week for people with disabilities of the Las Rozas City Council began, a free activity aimed at people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, aged between 14 and 64 years old, registered in the municipality. This initiative is part of the Family Respite program of the Department of Family and Social Services, whose coordinator, Ruth Agra, came to bid farewell to the group members along with their families.
A total of 20 people will enjoy a vacation tailored to their needs in Sant Carles de la Ràpita (Tarragona) until Sunday. Accompanied by 10 specialized monitors, they are staying at a hotel near the beach, with a large outdoor pool and a garden terrace. The program includes parties, beach walks, workshops, games, karaoke, sightseeing tours, and more.
This activity is a recreational-educational proposal that aims to ensure that participants make the most of their vacation period with normalized leisure activities. These activities contribute to their emotional and physical development, providing a positive, alternative, and fun leisure and free time option. At the same time, it offers a respite space for caregivers and family members.
