The Mayor of Majadahonda, Lola Moreno, and the Minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, Jorge Rodrigo, signed a new collaboration agreement on Friday between the Social Housing Agency (formerly IVIMA) and the City Council of the town, for the allocation of 180 public protection rental homes at an affordable price in plot R08 of the Opportunity Area.
As reported by the City Council in a statement, this agreement updates and includes conditions related to the typology, purpose, and allocation of the homes, storage rooms, and garages being built since last year on a plot of about 15,000 square meters in the surroundings of Moreno Torroba, Isaac Albéniz, and Avenida de la Oliva streets in Majadahonda.
Following the signing of the new agreement, Moreno and Rodrigo visited the construction site where the regional government has invested 28.5 million euros and is expected to be completed by 2026. «The level of completion is already over 54%, and we want to, through this agreement, help the most vulnerable residents of the municipality,» noted the minister.
Construction of 249 new social housing units by the Community begins in Móstoles
The homes, distributed in several blocks, have a usable area of 52 square meters, divided into two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, utility room, and bathroom. Eight of the homes are designated for people with reduced mobility. All apartments come with a storage room and parking space.
As stipulated in the agreement, the Ministry of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, through the Directorate General of Housing and Rehabilitation, will be responsible for allocating the homes primarily through the lottery process.
