El 40º Festival ‘Madrid en Danza’ presenta 25 espectáculos internacionales.

Madrid and four municipalities will host the 40th Festival ‘Madrid en Danza’ with 25 shows performed by companies from five countries. From May 8 to June 1, the audience will be able to enjoy internationally renowned performances, such as those of Angelin Preljocaj, Mette Ingvartsen, and Jan Martens.

It has been four decades since the first dances at ‘Madrid en Danza’. This year, it celebrates its 40th anniversary with an edition that is pure heartbeat, memory, and avant-garde.

Following the regional government’s commitment to decentralize culture, Madrid will host this festival along with Getafe, Coslada, San Lorenzo de El Escorial, and La Cabrera.

Furthermore, it will become a great celebration of dance as a universal language, under the direction of the choreographer Blanca Li.

Thus, «it can be said that Madrid, at this moment, is the epicenter of all dance in Spain,» as highlighted by the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, Mariano de Paco Serrano.
